OUTRANKgeo ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website outrankgeo.com and the OUTRANKgeo AI brand visibility monitoring service (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Account information — email address and password when you register.
  • Brand and product data — brand names, product names, keywords, and related content you enter to configure scans.
  • Payment information — billing details processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers; Stripe stores and processes all payment data under their own privacy policy.
  • Support communications — messages you send to our support team.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, scan frequency, and interaction patterns.
  • Device and log data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — session cookies for authentication and analytics cookies to understand how users interact with the Service (see Section 7).

Scan result data:

When you run scans, we query third-party AI platforms (such as OpenAI ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, and Perplexity) using the brand and keyword inputs you provide. The AI responses and parsed visibility scores are stored on your behalf as your scan results.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • Process and complete transactions and send related information, including purchase confirmations and invoices.
  • Send transactional emails — scan completion notifications, account alerts, and security notifications.
  • Respond to support inquiries and troubleshoot issues.
  • Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve the Service.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your brand or scan data to train AI models, sell to third parties, or build advertising profiles.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers: We share data with vendors who help us operate the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and PostHog (product analytics). These vendors are contractually required to use your information only to provide services to us.
  • AI platform providers: Your brand keywords are sent to third-party AI APIs to run your requested scans. These queries are subject to those providers' terms and privacy policies. We do not share your account identity with those providers.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business transfers: If OUTRANKgeo is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our website before your information is subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information and scan results for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you cancel your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes. Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

5. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (TLS), encrypted data storage, row-level security on our database, and access controls limiting who can view your data. However, no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
